COS Healing and Unity Service
The Circle of Sisters Women's Ministry along with the Deaconess Ministry hosted their first Healing and Unity Service on Friday May 31, 2013. This was a blessed service and God spoke to the hearts of the women in attendance, heard prayers and answered requests. The Keynote speakers were: Reverend Barbara Davis - "What is Forgiveness?" Reverend Vondetta Carter - "The Consequences of Unforgiveness" Minister Frenchettia Payne - "Walking in Forgiveness"
Highlights included: Ten Reasons we should Forgive: 1.Unforgiveness means you do not love God. 6. It can give satan advantage over us 2. It prevents God from forgiving us 7. It can keep us from Heaven 3. It opens us up to the torment of the devil 8. It can prevent us from fruitful and spiritual 4. It can block God from forgiving/blessing us 9.satan can open us up to curses if we do not forgive 5. It can defile us 10. The blessing of forgiving puts us in a receiving position; our prayers will reach God
Five steps to walking in Forgiveness: 1. Make a deliberate and irrevocable choice to stop talking about it. Shut it down. 2. Be pleasant towards the person who hurt you. Let it go. 3. Don't remind them of what they did - they already know. 4. Let them feel good about themselves. Let God deal with them 5. PRAY FOR THEM
Thought - Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die....it's not going to happen!
